تناولت الدراسة موضوعًا مهمًّا من الموضوعات الاقتصادية في تاريخ إمارة شرقي الأردن، ومفصلًا رئيسًا من مفاصل قيام الإمارة وبناء مؤسسات الدولة، وهو موضوع الإدارة المالية في إمارة شرقي الأردن بين عامي 1926-1939م من خلال الوثائق الهاشمية (أوراق الملك عبدالله بن الحسين؛ إذ هدفت الدراسة إلى إبراز صورة الإدارة المالية في إمارة شرقي الأردن، والعاملين في الإدارة المالية، وتتبع التدابير الإدارية في إعداد الموازنة حتى المصادقة عليها، ورصد أوجه الإنفاق والإيرادات وتطورها من خلال جمع البيانات الرقمية التي أوردتها الوثائق الهاشمية ثمَّ تحليلها. وتناولت الدراسة المشاريع التنموية التي رفدتها مالية إمارة شرقي الأردن، في مجال النقل، والصحة، والبناء، والزراعة، والمياه، والطاقة خلال مدة الدراسة، وسلطت الضوء أيضًا على العلاوات ومستحقيها من موظفي الإمارة، والمشكلات المالية، والضرائب والرسوم، والأجور، وقد اعتمدت الدراسة على منهج البحث التاريخي القائم على جمع المادة التاريخية من المصادر الوثائقية والمعاصرة والصحف. وخلصت الدراسة إلى أن مالية إمارة شرقي الأردن كانت تخضع لإشراف المجلس التنفيذي؛ حيث ازدادت نفقات الإمارة وإيراداتها مع كل سنة مالية جديدة؛ مما عكس التطور والنمو في إمارة شرقي الأردن بعد عقد العشرينيات، وما رافق ذلك من ظهور أوجه إنفاق ومصادر دخل جديدة.
