التجارة في موانئ بوشهر وخرمشهر وبندر عباس والبحرين والكويت ومسقط عام 1936: دراسة في ضوء تقرير فرانك تود

تناولت هذه الدراسة بشكل عام الأوضاع التجارية في منطقة الخليج العربي في عام 1936 بناءً على التقرير الذي أعدَّهُ فرانك تود نائب القنصل البريطاني في مدينة بوشهر، وركّزت بشكل خاص على دراسة ستة موانئ خليجية فقط تضمَّنها التقرير، ثلاثة منها على الضفة الشرقية للخليج العربي، هي: بوشهر، وخرمشهر، وبندر عباس، وثلاثة عربية، هي: البحرين، والكويت، ومسقط؛ بهدف تقديم صورة واضحة ومتكاملة عن أحوالها التجارية، ولا سِيَّما من حيث الحركة التجارية، والدول المشاركة، والسلع المتبادلة، والبيانات المالية المتعلقة بالصادرات والواردات من حيث الزيادة أو النقصان. وكان من أبرز النتائج التي توصلت إليها الدراسة استمرار التجارة البريطانية في تلك الموانئ، ولكن ليس بالمستوى الذي كانت ترغب به الحكومة البريطانية؛ إذ شهدت تجارتها تراجعًا في بعض الموانئ بسبب المنافسة الدولية، خاصة من اليابان.
