Manuscript Submission Overview

  1. General Submission and Editorial Policies

 

  • Originality and Exclusivity: Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Dual submissions are strictly prohibited.
  • Peer Review and Evaluation Criteria: Manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review and are assessed based on originality, methodological soundness, theoretical and practical contribution, ethical integrity, language quality, and presentation.
  • Editorial Discretion: The Editorial Board retains full authority over the editorial and peer review process. This includes the right to request revisions, apply necessary stylistic or structural edits, and make final decisions regarding acceptance, revision or rejection of submissions. All editorial decisions are made in accordance with the journal’s ethical standards, peer review policies, and scholarly merit.
  • Withdrawal Policy: If an Author withdraws a manuscript during or after peer review, the author is liable to cover costs incurred during the editorial and review process.
  • Copyright and Archiving: Upon acceptance, copyright is transferred to JJES. All articles will be archived in the University of Jordan's digital repository, aligned with institutional archiving policies.

  1. Submission Instructions
  • Electronic Submissions: Manuscripts must be submitted online via the JJES submission portal:

  • Pre-submission Compliance: Authors must verify that the manuscript:
    • Is not under consideration elsewhere
    • Adheres to all formatting, language, and referencing standards outlined herein.

 

  1. Manuscript Formatting Requirements
  • Length: Maximum of 6,000 words (excluding references, tables, figures, and appendices).
  • Layout:
    • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
    • Line spacing: 1.5.
    • : Centered at the bottom of each page.
    • Pagination Centered at the bottom of each page.
  • Language: Manuscripts may be in English or Arabic. Authors are responsible for ensuring high-quality language and grammar. Inadequate language quality will result in rejection or return for revision. Use either British or American English consistently, not both.

 

  1. Abstract Guidelines
  • Length: 150-250 words.
  • Languages: Must be provided in both English and Arabic (identical in content)
  • Structure:
    • Objectives: Clearly state the main purpose and research question.
    • Methods: Briefly outline data sources, methodologies and tools. (e.g., data sources, techniques, analytical tools).
    • Results: Summarize key findings clearly, concisely and factually.
    • Conclusions: Highlight implications, policy relevance or recommendations.
    • Key words: 4-6 keywords listed below the abstract

Note: abstracts must not include citations, abbreviations, or undefined acronyms.

 

  1. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be arranged in the following order:

  1. Title
  2. Author Information: Full names, academic titles, affiliations, current position, addresses, emails, ORCid (if available); corresponding author marked with an asterisk (*).
  • Abstract
  1. Acknowledgements /Funding.
  2. Main text (with clearly numbered sections):
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review
  • Theoretical Framework (if applicable)
  • Data and Methodology (or Data and Methods)
  • Results and Discussion
  • Conclusion
  1. References (APA format)
  • Appendices

 

  1. Headings and Subheadings:
  • Main Headings: Bold, numbered (1., 2., 3., etc.)
  • Subheadings: Italicized, title case, numbered (e.g., 2.1, 2.2).
  • Third-Level Subheadings: (e.g., 1.1). Avoid automatic numbering.

 

  1. Tables, Figures, and Equations
  • Tables:
    • Title: itle case, above the table,10 pt title case.
    • Body: 10 pt font, clean layout no color or shading.
  • Figures:
    • Title: Below the figure, 10 pt, title case.
    • Style: Academic, uniform, no shading or decorative formatting.
  • Equations:
    • Use equation editor; number sequentially and refer to them in the text.

Note: All visuals must be cited in the text and be accompanied by titles and source information (if applicable).

 

  1. Footnotes, Acronyms, and Quotations
  • Footnote: For clarification only. Numbered consecutively in 10 pt font.
  • Acronyms: Define t at first use, then use acronyms consistently.
  • Quotations:
    • Short: Enclosed in single quotation marks with citation and page number.
    • Long (40+ words): Block format, indented, without quotation marks, with citation at the end.

  1. Appendices and Permissions
  • Labelling: Appendices should be marked A, B, C, with sub-sections (e.g. 1, B.2).
  • Permissions: Authors must obtain written reprint permissions for reused content and inform the editorial office upon permission.

 

  1. Data Availability and Reproducibility

Authors of empirical or experimental studies must submit all data, code, and documentation necessary to replicate the study upon request by the editorial board.

 

  1. Citation and Referencing Style:

  • Reference List: All references must be formatted according to APA guidelines and listed in alphabetical order by the surname of the first author, without numbering. For manuscripts written in English, any Arabic or non-English references must be translated into English and included in the reference list, following APA citation conventions

 

  1. Bio Statement (Upon Acceptance)

Each author must submit a brief biographical statement (approx. 50 words) including academic qualifications, current affiliation, position, and research interests. The corresponding author must include an email and permanent address.

 

  1. Copyright and Usage

JJES retains full copyright of all published articles. Authors must obtain prior permission from the Editor-in-Chief for any reproduction or secondary use.

 

  1. Privacy Statement

Personal information (e.g., names, emails) provided in the journal system will only be used for the purposes of this journal and will not be disclosed to any third party.
